Speakout for the repeal of anti-abortion laws!

A recent report in the Medical Journal of Australia confirms once again that an overwhelming majority of people in Australia support a woman’s right to choose abortion. Yet the Queensland government continues to refuse to repeal this state’s archaic anti-abortion laws. Not only this, but they have defended the use of these laws to charge a couple in Cairns, who will face trial under the anti-abortion laws with the prospect of years in prison if the charges are upheld.

According to sources inside the ALP, if Bligh were to back a bill to repeal the anti-abortion laws, such a bill would gain a clear majority in parliament. But Bligh and her government continue to make excuses and create distractions. They will continue to do so until there is a movement too strong for them to ignore. A movement that voices the demand of the majority – for the immediate repeal of all anti-abortion laws. Add your voice to the campaign to demand immediate action. Join the speakout:
